Nancy Bailey
Nancy Bailey has many years of experience both as an educator of young children and an entertainer who causes giggles and guffaws. With a Diploma in Early Childhood Education Nancy has taught children under 6 in preschools and child care centres for over 20 years. And since 1984 Nancy has delighted children of all ages with her clowning, puppetry, magic, balloons and juggling. She was trained at The Nadine Rogers School of Clowning, by Brenda Marshall in Gospel Clowning, Clown Camp Canada and Advanced Studies in the Performance Art of Clowning and Clown Fun Calgary. She is a member of the World Clown Association, Clowns of America, International: Raincoast Clown Troupe, Vancouver Storytellers, Bump-A-Nose Clown Alley; and is currently President of Skookum Chuckles Clown Alley. Nancy, along with members of her Raincoast Clown Troupe, won Clown Idol at Clown Fun Calgary '08 and were runners-up in '09. Nancy also has Insurance Coverage for anytime I perform whether I am Rosey Posey, Butterfly, Lotsabuttons, Abbie Cadabra, Mother Goose, Prof. See More or Mrs. Claus.
Abbie Cadabra - she's magical, she's funny, she's a hoot, she's one amazing Magician! Many magicians say they do children's shows but Abbie Cadabra knows how to delight the young ones, how to make them feel comfortable and special and how to tickle their funny bones! This magic show will amaze and amuse, surprise and inspire children of all ages.
Butterfly the Clown is a funny, gentle clown with a show that is metamorpho-silly. She turns into a clown during a show filled with pratfalls, clown magic, puppets, and balloon tricks. The children are the smart ones advising and correcting all the way through as she falls down putting on the pants, puts on the shirt upside down, puts on the shoe before the sock, names colours and everything else wrong! Once she's totally turned into a clown she finishes with magic tricks and balloon creations for each child.
Lotsa Buttons is a bumbling clown who delights in everything she sees. She collects buttons!, frogs!, rabbits! and fans like you! Accompanied by Harry, a very hungry frog puppet Lotsa Buttons uses silly stories, clown magic, and juggling to entertain young audiences of all ages.
Rosey Posey is dressed for a garden party but wishes she was wearing dungarees or overalls! Watch her magic show and you will laugh yourself silly while learning more about flowers, bugs and little critters than anyone thought possible while having so much fun! She'll delight all the children with her Princess Who Defeated the Dragon story. But if this is a birthday party for a boy then the story will be The Prince who Rescued His Father's Kingdom from a Dastardly Dragon! The celebration at the end of the story includes the magical production of CANDY FOR EVERYONE! and the shooting off of the King's own canon. Well actually that's a confetti canon loaded with party streamers! Rosey Posey's show is magical, enhanced with the use of puppets, and fun for all. Mother Goose, who was a hit at Surrey Children's Festival, is also available for a party at your home, story time at a library, or where ever children and their families want to be entertained with fairy tales, nursery rhymes, puppets and more. Watch her balance a broom on the end of her finger, hear Little Miss Muppet tell her own nursery rhyme, watch the goose shake her head as Mother Goose mixes up rhymes that children know well. This Mother Goose will have them rolling in the aisles while they also learn the rhythm and beat of the English language. They'll giggle themselves silly at the fun and silly nonsense rhymes. And you'll chuckle as you listen to them repeat all they heard as you drive them home.
